What I Did

• This week I reviewed my in progress fiber materials and took a trip to the MoMA where I found lots of material inspiration in a current exhibit on design

Soft examples in the house

• I spent most of the week detangling and studying the structure of how the string came together, whether the yarn itself was flexible and the stitch.

  • I’m most interested in weaving, crochet vs knit, ribbing and also the different yarns materials (acrylic vs not etc)

    

    • In the picture above are some pieces I’ve crocheted with different techniques and that have different soft properties
      • Velvet grey granny square balaclava
        • Both the material and the stitch I used for the granny stitch are not stretchy
        • One fun flexible feature is the drawstring which I weaved through to tighten it on the face
